Hello, my names Natalie-Jane. I’m an Illustrator and Surface Pattern Designer, based in Melbourne.
I’m available for work with both private and commercial clients.
Nestled in the heart of England, my childhood was cradled by the warmth of a crackling fireplace and the enchanting stories of my tea leaf-reading grandmother and her mother, my great-grandmother, a renowned clairvoyant and medium. Their spellbinding narratives, full of symbolism deeply shaped my formative years.
This journey into visual storytelling began at age 11, with the gift of my first Tarot deck, a moment that sparked my enduring love for the magical realms and visual creativity. It kindled within me a journey of personal growth and discovery through painting that continues to this day.
Since moving to Australia in 2007, iv’e gained an Advanced Diploma in Fine Art.
My personal artwork serves as a tribute to past nature inspired painters, envisioned through a contemporary lens. It's a rich blend of influences, from the depths of ancient history, marine biology and the wonders of nature, the study of anthropology, to the mysteries of magic, folklore, and mythology. Each creation is a carefully crafted symphony of shapes and colours, with a strong narrative at its heart.
Whilst i’ve been teaching Tarot and Astrology for over 15 years, i’ve recently expanded my repertoire to include Art classes, adding another vibrant hue to my personal palette of skills.
I also teach Art History classes, that revolve around the evolution of Astrology and Magic over the centuries. Previously i’ve lectured at the Sydney Astrological Research Society on Art and Astrology, with an in-depth discussion on Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo’s birth charts and the astrological transits that they experienced at significant stages in their careers when creating certain paintings.
Currently i’m working on a collection of 12 illustrations based on the mythology of the zodiac signs. I’ve included a couple of images in the portfolio section of the work in progress for Libra and Cancer. I’m also developing my skills with studying children’s book illustration.
Welcome to my corner of the universe, where art, magic, nature conservation and education converge in a quest for lifelong learning and exploration.
